Undying Optimism Matinee Muse Prompt

As he looked out the window from his office located on the 13th floor, he notice an unusually large amount of traffic, an unusual amount of what seemed to be tourist. Stan being Stan just thought the day was perfect and why shouldn't people take advantage of it if they had that opportunity.

He knew his time would come soon. The day where he could escape to the beach or the mountains. He longed for this time. He needed the escape. Away from the hum drum of work and just well not having an overly exciting life in general. Or did he?

See Stan the optimistic man of all his friends seemed to have quite a boring life. What most did not realize about their upbeat friend was what he did in his spare time. The outside life, the other life. The life where he was actually quite athletic, social, had a good time with other friends, where he was looked up to, had won awards, and had the interest of many ladies.

Yes Stan was actually quite the guy. Never a downer, always has a word of encouragement or just a positive thought to share.

No matter what the situation whether it be big or small, he has something positive to share.

His friends and co workers find this quite annoying about him. How can he stay so cheerful? How come with all the stress and pressure can't he ever be in a bad mood, say something negative about someone?

It is the other life, the other friends who love his undying optimism. This is what makes them want to spend time with him. To be his friend. This is the guy that has it all without even knowing it. He isn't a bragger. He is well dressed, average guy, has college degrees, a good job, and he is just a well rounded individual.

He is as he always says just Stan, the undying optimistic man. With that there wasn't a dry eye in the house. Stan's friend had just read the most incredible euology about a guy that anyone would be proud to call their friend. Stan would always be remembered as the optimistic man with the undying optimism. Stan will forever be missed.

Update on my Son

As some of you may know, my son Ryan has had a rough few months. He just turned 2 on the 19th of this month.

Well we took our family trip to Disney and Alabama in July. We returned mid July had a few good weeks when on the 7th of August he had two Grand mal seizures. At this time he was admitted to the PICU. PICU-stands for Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. He underwent many tests. All of which came back good. He then began taking phenobarbital and was doing well for a few days until he had an allergic reaction to the meds. The neurologist said that at that time he was going to discontinue any use of antiseizure meds cause he thought that the seizures were caused from a virus. So everything seemed to be doing good until the 18th the night before his second birthday when he again had a seizure. He is now back on meds and seems to be doing pretty good. He did have a minor set back on the 26th when he had three non convulsive seizures that would have been full blown seizures if it wasn't for the fact that he is on new meds. I have one of the greatest neurologist working with him. They have also begun doing lymphoma and leukemia tests due to the enlarged lymph nodes. I will try and keep things current and posted on my blog regarding the updates.

His sleeping schedule is all messed up but overall he is improving and that is the most important thing.
