Surgery

Just a little note to let everyone know the much anticipated adenoid surgery on my youngest daughter, was a huge success!!! She was a trooper, she wasn't scared either. She picked out bubblegum scent to go into her mask so that is what she smelled when anesthesia was passing through the mask lol. She is home and already playing and laughing. Yay Lexi!!!

Happy Holidays to all My friends as well as all my friends who participate in Flash Friday 55

Today is not about me continuing on a 55 story, today is about wishing everyone a very Merry Holiday season, and a very safe and Happy New Year. Today is also about change, not waiting for the New Year to make a resolution. My resolution is selfish this year, but perhaps long over due. My New Years resolution is about getting healthy safely, without the use of diet pills and drinks. Its about remembering there are consequences to all actions. I am setting a jar on my counter that will be labeled 365 days of happiness. Everyday I will put a slip of paper in it with one thing I am happy for. Come next year I will open this jar up and I will read, and reflect upon all the things that have made me happy but more importantly what I am blessed to have. I want to thank all of you who have come to my blog and shared in some laughs, some gibberish and perhaps a tear or two maybe even a few Gasps lol. I hope this year brings about a lot more inspirations and great writing. I hope everyone has a wonderful, safe, healthy, and prosperous holiday season. Hugs from me to all of you.

Happy Birthday G-man you rock!!! Please scroll down to the next post for my 55 and scroll one down from the new 55 to see the beginning of this 55 lol.

Flash Friday 55 (Panic 2)

I knew I had to help but how?
The messages were few and far
between. The cry for help was apparent.
My heart was racing, my palms clammy,
things were becoming unclear. My breathing
has become rapid.
I slump down against the brick wall.
I know I need to pull it together, fast, and
now!

Flash Friday 55 (Panic)

My heart melted.
Tears ran down my face.
A wave of panic over took
me, as my heart began to race.
With every beat, it was as if I was
trapped. There was no way to reach
him. As I yelled his name, all other
sound except for the echo of my racing heart
was all that could be heard.

Flash Friday 55 (Oh My!!!) Making up for the last two weeks

Hi to all my blogging friends. This 55 is over 55 words but I am kind of making up for the last two weeks of not posting lol.

Oh My!!!

There she was
a perfect little
girl.

Pink and beautiful.

I remember holding her
right after she was born,
she had her eyes open as
soon as she heard my voice.

That sweet little face,
that baby smell. She
is all mine. What a
beautiful baby. My
heart was so happy,
so full of love. No other
feeling in the world like it.

Yesterday marked her
first day as a teen. Oh
what a beautiful young
girl I have raised. Here's to
many more years to come.

Happy 13th Birthday Jade!!!

I love you. Love Mom

Flash Friday 55 (Sometimes)

Sometimes its more
clear than others.

Decisions are clear cut...
Sometimes.

Sometimes words flow smoothly,
and sometimes it feels like there stuck.

Some or most will agree that there is
multiple answers to a question and, its
open to interpertation by the individual.

Sometimes.

Why then is it so easy for some
to give their all and,
others not so much?

Sometimes.

Flash Friday 55 (My sigh) Yes I know its late lol

It felt good,
it was exciting.

It was for a great cause.
The adrenaline rush
had been great for so
long.

The day finally came.
Traffic blocked for three
miles. Nine hundred thousand
dollars raised by all teams.

A sigh of relief
it was over. With a
smile, I knew my
efforts paid off.
S I G H.

*Our Autism Walk took place Sat. Sept. 26th it was a beautiful Fall day. We kicked off our walk at 9:25am over 3000 in attendance and over $900,000.00 raised collectively by all of our teams. It was a fantastic day for all. *

Flash Friday 55 (The Bus) Yep its a little longer than 55

There I was holding his hand.
Just the two of us.
Smiling and singing
The Wheels on the Bus.

Waiting for the bus, we
watched as car after car
passed us by, still no bus.

Finally I saw it at the
lights, I watched it turn.
It was approaching our
house. The bus stopped
and, I walked him to the door
and helped him get loaded.

He looked excited at first,
then turned around and gave
me that look of come on mom
what are you waiting for?

I smiled at him and said,
its okay buddy, your going
to school. My heart sank.

*sorry I exceeded my 55 but it was the first bus ride for my little guy today and one of the hardest things to do*

Flash Friday 55 (Remembering)

The silence was
heard around the world.
Our faces fell white with
what we had just witnessed.
Our hands covered our mouths,
as tears poured from our eyes.
Why would someone do this?
Many people lost their lives
in a senseless act of cruelty.
Others risked it all to those
who were trapped and scared.

*God bless the USA and my prayers are with the families that lost loved ones and to all our nation's heros who were there to help in our nations time of need. Never will we forger 9/11*

pupils return the stare

New clothes
new faces
new places

Great to see
smiles upon their
faces. Yay!!!

Sorry been hectic the last week or so but I am back and thanks for reading I have missed you all!!!

Flash Friday 55 (A caring Acknowledgment)

A hug, a kiss

a caring acknowledgment.

Deafening Silence,
a nod, perhaps
a reply.

A caring acknowledgement.

A smile, laughter,
or a tear or two.

A caring acknowledgement.

Words of wisdome,
Advice, a touch of
the shoulder, or a
hand to hold.

A caring Acknowledgement.

A whisper of encouragement,
sighs of relief.

A caring Acknowledgement.

*As some of you know my son has been in the hospital he turns 3 this month. He got to come home yesterday and had a great night last night stayed fever free. He is being treated for neutropenia which is low white blood cell count. His is extremely low. We still have no answers to what caused it they are hoping viral, but he will be undergoing a lot of test in the upcoming weeks so please keep us in your thoughts. To those who have been saying prayers for my little guy thank you so much I appreciate it.*

Seeing the World (3rd entry)

Wow after our long flight and being shuttled to our hotel, we all decided to take a half hour nap okay so it turned into an hour. Then we decided we were going to hit the hotel pool. Wow you wouldn't believe the weather. I thought we were sweating at home, this is an insta diet. Although I have to say the humidity is not that bad but wow oh wow the temps in the hundreds.

Okay well this pool is awesome. Not too many other people were in it when we arrived to hop in. About a handful or so. We did find two other families of touristy people from the states which was cool we will be joining them in the hotel dining room this evening. They have also told us of some cool tours that will be happening all week, and just where we need to go to sign up. So we are going to do that and join them so that we have others to enjoy our Egyptian visit with. They also have kids yahoo!!!

The pool was like bath water, absolutely wonderful. I think we all could of just stayed in it all night. It was just so relaxing after a long plane ride, and then a shuttle ride.

After our swim it was back to the room for showers and changing into clothes for dinner. Shorts and t-shirts, flip flops you know totally relaxing and casual nothing fancy here lol.

We met for 6:15 with the two other families in the dining room. At dinner my group we decided to try something out of the norm for us. I tried the signature dish of Egypt, yes they have one and it is Bamia=sweet and sour Okra. How neat and what a great flavor to it.

The kids tried some different kinds of pasta and chicken dishes but ofcourse lol but it was different from fried chicken or baked chicken breast at home.

As we were dining they had some great music playing and then we all heard it yes we heard the Egypt Anthem (which you can listen to in my sidebar) it was very neat to say the least.

Well we all went to a local park to view some flower gardens and waterfalls, and then back to the hotel to say goodnight and in the morning we will all meet up for a shuttle to a place that has camels guess we are going to hop on a camel and off to the pyramids hmmm can't wait.

Seeing the world continued

Now that its settled and our first destination for one whole glorious week will be to Egypt. Yep thats right Egypt (see below entry to see what is going on lol) Okay after doing our flight research and hotel research, it will cost me with 5 kids one of which gets upgraded to an adult for this trip and this trip only and the baby gets upgraded to child vs's infant status for this trip and this trip only. After airline fees and taxes roundtrip for the six of us leaving Windsorlocks CT. and landing in Cairo Egypt will cost $8188.00 that is $1,364.00 each. Okay that is without any additional bags which ofcourse would cost and additional fee charged by the lovely airline. The flight will take place on a Delta plane. There will be a total of two stops. Once landing in Cairo we will be shuttled off to our four star hotel which is the Sonesta Hotel and Casino Cairo. Ahhh to travel the world in luxury. More to come so stay tuned. Enjoy our trip as much as we do lol.
*pics are of:top pic is of the sonesta hotel and casino Cairo bedroom, the pool, the hotel at night, the hotel during the day, the side bar has the Egyptian Anthem*

Seeing the World

A couple of summers ago the kids and I decided that throughout the summer we would pick a country, or a state whatever our hearts desired and that would be where we would travel. When I say travel not physically but we would live it up as if we had been there. Finding out as much info as possible and then trying a signature dish from that specific place. Well some of the kids were just too small to help with all the research and the older kids didn't think it was fair to get stuck with all the research work. Well fast forward to the summer of 2009 where everyone can read and write with the exception of one who will be 3 in a few more weeks, everyone is excited. Well today at lunch time I put 12 pieces of paper folded up. The places were Hawaii, Egypt, or Alaska. Well after everyone took their picks and gave me the papers still folded I opened each of them up and put them down accordingly. Three went into the pile of Egypt one in Alaska. So needless to say Egypt won, and our research has begun. I will be sure to post some interesting info here as well as pics from when we have our Egyptian meal can't wait. So off to the pyramids we go on the backs of our camels. Bon voyage and we will keep you posted when we return.
*The pics are the Lotus which is Egypt's flower, the arabian camel, and two pics of the pyramids*

Another Random Thought by me

Why is it that when you are tossing and turning from a restless night, you get up and start doing things in hopes to fall asleep? But, as soon as your head hits the pillow you can't go to sleep?

I have been up since 3:30am this morning and good grief I feel real real tired but everytime I put my head down on the pillow I am up again. Go figure.

Well atleast the house looks nice and clean and hopefully I can manage to sneak a little nap at some point.

I hope all the people that come to read my blog are having a great sleep, or had a great nights sleep. Take care and enjoy my random thoughts lol.

I found these questions on Akelamalu's blog

I found these questions on Akelamalu's blog and figured I would try and answer them lol. *REMEMBER TO CONTINUE TWO POSTS DOWN FOR MY 55*

The Mission Impossible Meme

Okey Dokey here's the second Queen's Meme from Mimi Queen Of Memes, where every Tuesday she will put up a new meme for us serfs to participate in with the threat of being thrown in the dungeon if we don't do it!

1. You are a guest on the space shuttle. You just arrived on the moon and realize you forgot something back home that you can't live without. What is it and how do you convince them to go back and fetch it? I am going to say that I may have forgot to pack my toothbrush which isn't likely but I would convince that morning breath is something none of us want to have to face but then again the only person breathing it in would be ourselves cause we would have our space suits and helmets on and well ewwww.

2. Pretend you are a teacher in a rough public school for one day. You have been assigned to teach Manners 101. You have the "challenging bad butt kids" class (remember this is a pretend school and anyway I can't say ass on my blog 'cause it's so unQueenly and I might get fined or something).

They are jumping up and down, cursing, and throwing things at you.

What is the first thing you would write on the board?Got Diploma? Then I am sure I would get ha thats funny or huh got diploma? Whats that mean? Simple you don't behave and you won't make it to graduation cause I am kicking your butt right on out the front doors.

3. Someone in your family or a friend has started a blog. They think it is anonymous but you have figured it out. They are saying derogatory things about you. Do you tell them or do you read it for awhile? Oh yeah I read it for awhile.

How would you handle it? Oh there is bound to be a family gathering where I can get a few good jabs in that they might not at first realize until a little later when they go oh no she knows, lol oh yeah I know and now I am holding it over your head lol.

4. If you had one dollar left in your pocket, what would you spend it on? I would drop it in a charity for children. I believe that the children are our future and there is always someone or something that needs that last dollar more than I do. Who knows they say one good deed deserves another right?

5. President Obama and the First Lady are coming over for dinner. What do you serve? Pizza but of course. Why change now. That is who I am very informal, full of fun, love my jeans and t-shirts and love to cut jokes. Not changing for anyone and hey with a partysize the secret service can grab a few slices too lol.

6. You walk in on your lover. They are trying on your clothes. I think I would have to pretend I was a flight attendant at this point and use both my hands to point out the exits and ofcourse and follow it up with hope the door doesn't hit you in the ass on your way out. OOps was that unqueenly of me? I prefer to be a princess cause queen is mighty stuffy don't you think?

7. Every astronaut must have shots! Choose your vaccination: You only get one and you can't enjoy any of the attributes of the other choices. You choose either: (1) The fountain of eternal youth and sexual vigor but only for 10 years (2) perfect health for a lifetime (3) eternal mind-numbing nirvana and peace of mind (4) unlimited hedonism for one year with no negative consequences

I am going with number 2. If I have perfect health for a lifetime well then my sexual vigor should be pretty good, and well I will always be the fountain of youth just ask my kids I am currently 21 lol shhhhhh. I have peace of mind but its not mind numbing I am sure it should be some days, and I believe every day should give you opportunities that bring about ultimate pleasure and there shouldn't be negative consequences if you are doing what you believe in and doing what you know is right.

*CONTINUE DOWN TO NEXT POST FOR 55 BUT LISTEN TO THE SONG IN ITS ENTIRETY HERE*

Flash Friday 55 (lyrics from Mariah Carey's song Butterfly)

When you love someone so deeply
They become your life
It's easy to succumb to overwhelming fears inside
Blindly I imaged I could
Keep you under glass
Now I understand to hold you
I must open my hands
And watch you rise

[Chorus:]
Spread your wings and prepare to fly
For you have become a butterfly

*I love this song*

Benefits of Girls Night Outs

Wow what a great time I had last night. First time in a long time that I got to get out with friends without kids go figure lol. One of the girls that came is a great friend of mine but I haven't gotten to see her in six years I believe was the last time we got together. We have managed to stay in contact via email everyday for the last two years just haven't had any down time between the two of us. Anyways there were four of us all total last night.

Our night started out at a local bead shop where we all made some cute things. I made a necklace from some beads and a main pendant piece that my youngest daughter had picked out for my special night out. It actually came out quite nice when all completed. I added the crystals to each side of the main pendant piece and crimped the sides so that the beads would not be free to move around and then I added my clasp which was sterling with a cute heart shape. My friend from high school made a great chunky pendant out of turquoise and black spacer beads it came out very nice for a first piece. Then one of the other girls made a very nice black beaded stretchy bracelet which was great. The last friend made something a little more intricate lol and wow it came out so nice. She made a three stranded variated bead necklace in sterling with the prettiest gray beads absolutely awesome. Good job to all of us.

I think we laughed so hard we nearly peed our pants talking about high school days, delivery stories of our children, and just life in general.

I think every one should be entitled to their girls or guys night out. The benefits are just so awesome. I mean the stress I had built up just out of daily stuff and work and what have you just to be able to get out not worry and take our times and converse with other adults was wonderful. I came home feeling like a weight had been lifted. I have already got plans for next months GNO and it will be rock climbing. I am afraid of heights but I am sure this will be an experience we all won't forget.

*The above pic is of the necklace I made very simple but it was fun* PLEASE CONTINUE DOWN 2 POSTS FOR MY 55

The Wooden Bowl (Kudos to the 4 yr old)

The Wooden Bowl

I guarantee you will remember the tale of the Wooden Bowl tomorrow, a week from now, a month from now,
a year from now.
A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and four-year-old grandson.
The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered
The family ate together at the table. But the elderly grandfather's shaky hands and
failing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor.
When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth.
The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess.
'We must do something about father,' said the son.
'I've had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor.'
So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner.
There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner.
Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl.
When the family glanced in Grandfather's direction, sometimes he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone.
Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food.
The four-year-old watched it all in silence.
One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor.
He asked the child sweetly, 'What are you making?' Just as sweetly, the boy responded,
'Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food in when I grow up.
' The four-year-old smiled and went back to work.

The words so struck the parents so that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done.
That evening the husband took Grandfather's hand and gently led him back to the family table.
For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason,
neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO NEXT POST FOR MY 55 Thank you.

Flash Friday 55 (flight)

Sorry I am about three words over this week.

"If you had wings,
where would you go"? she asked.

Well I would fly high above
all the pretty flowers but,
not too high though.

"Why not too high"? she asked.
Because I want to be able to
fly close to enough to you so
that when you feel a light
breeze tickle your skin
you'll know its me.

She smiled.

Flash Friday 55 (Surf Day)

The perfect day
perfect weather,
not too hot,
not too cold.

The breeze would
be light but,
refreshing.

A surfers dream day.
The waves would be

Hurrying to get
ready. They loaded
up and headed to
the beach.

White sand at their feet.
The ocean air is
all they smell.

They crave the waves!

We have a Match

I am so excited and pleased to announce that after last nights meeting with the "potential" service/therapy dog for my son we have a match. All the kids my three daughters and my son really enjoyed looking at the pups. We all fell in love with one little guy who is a chunky monkey lol. He is absolutely adorable. His name that we decided on will be Dodger. He will be ten weeks old when we bring him home on July 3rd. He is a black AKC registered lab. Both mom and dad were on premise last night absolutely gorgeous loving dogs. So gentle the mom and pop were. Thank you all for crossing your fingers and wishing us luck. We have seen many and have enjoyed this experience but this one is meant to be. In the posted pics you will see the larger dark lab is the mother of Dodger. The white lab is the father of Dodger I fell in love with him he was such a sweety. You will see my oldest daughter holding the pup then you will see our pup with his dad then with his mom then with me.

A prayer answered?

The call has come. Does this mean my prayer for a service/therapy dog for my son has been answered? Well I am not sure it has been but,I will let you know after the meeting of the puppy tonight. I am so excited. It is a lab. So this is what I have been holding out for. I have gone to see several dogs and have turned them down either cause it wasn't the right dog or wasn't a match. I want the dog and my son to have a connection. So hopefully tonight we will have a match. I plan on taking pics and will post them later. To all you dads out there I hope you are having a great Father's Day.

Lots of fun things to do.

The bell dings.
You can hear the screams.
School is out!

Strawberries, Streaks, Squeals

Hey there just me with one of those random thought moments. I will try and touchdown on all three of the above mentioned things, strawberries, streaks and squeals.

First is strawberries. I have never ever been overly fond of anything strawberry flavored or the real things themselves. They do smell nice, and it is fun to pick them. This year I must of been having a very therapeutic and relaxing time while picking cause I estimated I picked maybe 6 pounds worth but when I weighed the two flats that I had picked, the first flat had 6 pounds, and the second flat had 8 pounds. Holy toledo that is 14 pounds of strawberries!!! Anyone for a daiquiri? I took these bad boys home washed them up put them in a ziplock freezer baggie okay multiple baggies. I gave some away and kept some. I have to say these buggers are big, juicy, and well sweet. So despite the fact that I normally don't like them they are actually very tasty. My middle daughter loves strawberries. Tonight it is going to be hashbrowns and some strawberry pancakes yumalicious.

Next topic is streaks. Okay no I am not streaking the neighbors or anything like that, this involves the oldest daughter. She is not streaking either by the way. She is an honor roll student every year, this year she has not done that for every semester she has done it for two. However, the grades are still good. The deal was if she maintained her grades she could streak it blue. So the other night after picking strawberries which she dislikes very much but, was a great help this year at picking, she asked, "hey mom you know how you said if I got good grades I could get my hair colored blue?" I said,"yep" she said,"can I still do that?" I said, "you bet". So now we will be visiting our great and long time hairdresser for some streaks to see how she likes it. I at first had suggested doing just the tips but then at dinner we decided on a few streaks.

Okay Squeals, well you see we are still in school here until the 24th of the month. So the squeals comes in the form of excitement. One school is almost out, two is today is field day, third omg school is almost out lol. Okay so last night I got each kid prepared with proper team colors. Oldest daughter has a shirt that was made by her teacher for todays event and her teams colors are blue green and white, middle daughter is red team, youngest daughter is green team. So I did everyone's nails in the color of team colors. Wow what a Weekend

This weekend was busy busy busy. My niece graduated on Friday. Saturday kicked off with everyone wanting to do different things. The two oldest kids went off with friends, and the two youngest and I went on some cool little outings. First outing was to the mall, first stop was Build a Bear gotta love it. My youngest daughter wanted to make springtime bear which is a totally beautiful bear. Her fur is a bright pink and there is flowers all throughout. She got a cute outfit to boot. My son who is the baby of the family, he is also Autistic, well he did not feel like making one of the animals he just had fun looking at everything and seeing how it all worked. So then off to The Childrens Place for a couple of new summer outfits then to Target so little man could pick out something since he didn't want a build a bear. He picked out some finger paints, and a mini bowling set and it seems like he picked out a game that both he and the little princess my youngest daughter can play together. So then we hustle to one other store cause I needed to get something that I just couldn't find anywhere. So then it was homeword bound. Everyone into pj's get a drink put on a funny show and crash. Sunday morning rise and shine early stop off at my all time fave farmstand, get veggies for my garden. I go 6 red bell pepper plants, 6 hungarian style hot pepper plants, 3 pickling cuke plants, 2 zucchini plants, 6 dill plants. I got flowers for my grandparents grave site and a high towering shade loving Lily for myself absolutely gorgeous. I had to stop back home drop off my plants and grab my camera. I like to send my mom pics of what I plant up at the cemetary. Then it was to the cemetary where I planted and little princess watered the plants. From there we headed home to grab a drink and a potty break, then to the Classic Car Show. Wonderful cars. One of my faves was a Biscayne, there was a few that looked like the ZZ top car, a lot of GTO's there was a cool band that was playing. Two clowns Beeper and Poppy. A huge retro VW hippie bus that was for the band but they didn't stay in it to play they were right down on the hard top jammin. So after the car show homeward bound to plant my veggies and clean up the yard some. Then I stank so off to the shower then all kids were home so it was a moment of we all scream for ice cream yahoo. I was craving pistachio but couldn't resist the kahlua so there you have it a fun filled action packed workout of a wonderful weekend enjoy the pics. Some are from the car show, some are of the build a bear some are of the veggie garden some of the lily, some of the pretty flowers on the cemetary. Oh yes an there is a couple of pics of my rose bushes, and by the way my 55 is just below this post. Ejoy!

Flash Friday 55(TGIF)

A little bit of this
A little bit of that

Shake Shake Shake

A spring of mint for garnish
A beautiful red sunset colored
beverage was poured into the
cocktail glasses.

With a smile on their faces
and a glass in hand
they raise their glasses for a toast.

To friendship. And finally TGIF!

Flash Friday 55 (Migraines)

Banging, throbbing,
excruciating pain!

Tears well up
I am too tired.

Need sleep.
DESPERATELY!

Any sound, any light
amplifies the pain.

My breathing
gets more rapid.

I try to escape
to a tranquil place.

Where there no sounds,
just a soothing breeze.

Still the pain is there.

The pain of migraines.

Carry on Tuesday Second Prompt

It was a
bright cheery day

Flowers in bloom
birds singing

People bustling from one thing
to another.

Children having fun
laughing and giggling

The pastry shop
doors wide open
as the sweet scents
filled the air.

Down to the local
theater I could hear them

Here is a place
where magic is
made everyday,
every week,
every month.

As I got closer
"Everyone suddenly
burst out singing,
and I was filled with
such delight".

"=the prompt line.

Flash Friday 55 (inspiration)

Inspiration comes in
many forms

Once inspired, it becomes
a dream, or a passion

This passion turns
into your baby,
your creation.

The beginning of it is
hard work and dedication.

Lots of research
Lots of getting the word out

The night comes and your
passion makes its debut

Your work has paid off. Thank You!

*I felt awesome last night after my first meeting for the Autism Support Group I created was held*

I hope everyone has a wonderful long weekend and Happy Memorial Day to all.

Wow 2009 where oh where did you go?

I was thinking today when I wrote an email to my dear friend across the pond in jolly ole England (Keith) that wow this year has flown by. I know some may say what is the big deal they all do. Wrong this year just seems to have gone by faster than some of the years in the past. I was thinking wow winter is truly through, Spring has sprung everything is in full bloom and things are green trees are full it is just so pretty out there. This gave me hope that Summer is truly on its way. The sun is shining so bright today and we are going to have a record high the majority of this week of it being in the 80's unreal and so nice to hear and feel trust me. After the winter months I welcome this unusal heat wave with welcome arms. So where did this year go? It just seems that it came and is almost gone. Am I alone in this feeling of 2009?

Carry On Tuesdays First Prompt

Ahhh fresh air, finally!
A smile came across her face. It had been a record high heat wave of a month. Many had been hospitalized due to heat stroke, and dehydration.
Now finally thirty days since the heatwave began, they were finally getting a break. A much needed one at that. They had a horrendous downpour, then some heavy winds. The sky had been dark and dreary, perhaps more bad weather would be rolling in. By the time she had gotten home, and had eaten her dinner, she had noticed a change in the overall appearance of the outside and just the weather in general. A lighter feeling in the atomsphere. She went out on her porch. She immediately noticed there was no humidity, and there was a very gently breeze one of those that caress your body as you feel it brush against you.
It was then with camera in hand that the night sky caught her eye. She thought to herself "A cloudless night like this can set the spirit soaring".
After a few pics of the night sky, she went inside to jot down a few ideas inspired by this awesome evening.

Flash Friday 55 (pressure)

The thud loud in my ear,
as my heart races.

I can feel the sweat
rolling down my face.

Tick Tock the clock begins
to race. My mind moving
faster than my hand can write.

My head begins to spin.
Things get blurry.
Heart races.

Take a deep breath.
Let out a big sigh!
I finished

*On completing a final exam*

Flash Friday 55 *hello is there a cowboy around?*

Satin sheets
red wine
roses fresh from the vine
such sweet treats.

Tall dark and handsome
A cowboy in disguise
I wish he would come hold me for ransom.

Give me a moment to stare in his eyes
Time with him is so divine.
As his words echo in my mind.
"Care to swing on my vine?"

Spring Clean up

I usually look forward to this. Right now I am dreading it. However in the end it will all be worth it. How many of you have started your Spring cleaning? Better yet who is procrastinating on it? I am procrastinating only cause I am down and out with pneumonia at present but, I think a little of it is because I have it set in my mind I am going to paint and organize as well. Yeah I know organizing comes along with the whole Spring cleanup but hey I got a lot of organizing to do. A lot of thoughts on what I want to get done, get accomplished and how things should look. So we will see if I can get it all accomplished and done by the second week of June. No pressure lol.

Flash Friday 55 (Mmmmm)

Silky yet a bit sticky.
Smooth with just a little shine.
Deep chocolate brown.

Watching it swirl, and swirl,
until it finally makes a pool
in the bottom of the glass.

Take that silver spoon
mixing it with the milk.
Watching as the milk turns
to the nicest chocolatiest color.

Mmmm chocolate milk pure deliciousness.
